Being Comfortable With Yourself

WARNING! THE FOLLOWING POST INCLUDES SOME VERY DEEP DO-DO SO SIT BACK, RELAX AND JUST LET IT BE

Being a human myself i know how hard it is to feel good or even okay with your body and appearance and i know how much it can seriously bring you down. No matter what your weight, shape, size, hair colour, skin colour, eye colour is, i want you to know that you are perfect and that you are beautiful!

This subject is very popular with teens and i, being a teen myself understand the strain body image and appearance brings. I'm not going to pretend I'm some big expert on the subject because frankly, I'm still trying to understand it and understand why we live in a society where if you don't have a perfect weight (if that's even a real thing)  or the longest legs or the whitest teeth you're seen as mediocre.

On almost every coming of age movie I've seen, it includes an 'overweight' or 'underweight' girl/boy that learns to love their body and what they see when they look into the mirror while the victorious music plays in the background. The fact is, that doesn't always happen and if it does, it certainly takes more than a few weeks to achieve. The few success stories that have happened do include the person going through tough stages in their life, some even suicidal thoughts or attempts. Please know that I'm not trying to dis-hearten you or make you give up, i just don't want you to hop into something that takes so long to achieve that you end up giving up. It is possible and you can do it, but it does take A LOT of effort.

I am 14 years old and everyone and i mean everyone calls me 'skinny' and i think that is basically like calling an overweight person 'fatty' but apparently it's socially acceptable to say one but the other would be classed as being a bitch. I wish i could change my look, but i can't. I wish i could have curves and hips and boobs and every girl wanting my figure, but i don't. I try to put on weight but i can't. It's not that i don't eat because i do (far too much to be honest) it's just that i have very high metabolism and if i do end up putting a little bit of weight on, it goes straight to my stomach. Nowhere else unfortunately.

Before you start thinking 'you're acting like a spoilt brat, you have a high metabolism, I'd kill for that' you really wouldn't. At least people who don't have it have the ability to diet or go on a fitness regime. I can't do anything. Saying that, i don't want to put a picture in your head that I'm anorexic in any way because I'm most certainly NOT. I enjoy stuffing my face with pasta, pizza, ice cream, chocolate, crisps and every possible food you could think of. I am a healthy weight but i just don't like the LOOK of my body. I have 'knobbly knees' and a 'bony bum' as some like to call it but oh well! So what if people look at us weirdly? So what if people aren't 'satisfied' with us (unless it's a nurse, doctor or anyone with a medical degree) ?! We shouldn't care what they think! And we certainly shouldn't have to change ourselves for them! I want everyone reading this to know that YOU-yes YOU- are PERFECT and you WILL find happiness in yourself, it just might take a little longer than we hoped!

So, I'm making a promise to stop saying to myself that i don't like my appearance because you know what? I'm a perfect nutter (yes, that was an Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging quote, had to fit one in somewhere) and so are YOU!

But i don't want anyone with high metabolism to think they are nasty after reading this, it's just on me, i don't like it. I'm still growing up and i hope that one day I'll be happy with who i am and what i do, but that's for the future, the thing that i, and that you should too, look forward to!

My New Wonder Product!

Hi guyssss! I was so super-duper excited for this, i just couldn't wait for tomorrow to post it- i have found the new wonder product for dry, flaky, chapped noses! The product is Soap and Glory 'The Righteous Butter'.

It isn't really meant for your face because it's a body product, but your face is technically your body right?! Anyway, this product has been sitting in my bathroom cabinet (well not MY bathroom cabinet, my parents obviously) for yonks! Earlier this morning i was extremely tired and decided to skip exfoliating my face, knowing that i would regret it later in the day when the sides of my nose would look dreadful, so, looking for my usual moisturiser when i stumbled across this young fellow, and me being the daredevil that i am, decided to test it on my dry areas. So i just took a generous amount, rubbed it in and let it soak in.

At around 10 o' clock i went to take off my makeup when i realised just how moisturised and un-dry (is that a word?) the sides of my nose were! You may think of this as 'no big deal' but i have seriously tried everything to get rid of them and no product alone would work, i'm telling ya'! (as Ron Weasley would put it) but this has! This will cut down the amount of time my morning and night routine takes dramatically!

The sides of my nose are a mixture of oily, dry/flaky and red- VERY red, so finding this product will stop me having to exfoliate all the time which causes more redness and it will also get rid of the pesky flakes that make my makeup look awful!

You can buy Soap and Glory 'The Righteous Butter' in Boots for £2.50 for 50ml and £10.50 for 300ml!

Room Sweet Room!

Helllllllooooooooooo (Marcus Butler impressionist to the stars, i know) today i thought i'd show you my room and what's in it just because why not? Be warned however, it's very, veRY, VERY girly and maybe a bit too young for my age, but just know, i'm not 10, (although my room would probably give you that impression) I'm actually very much older than 10, but hey-ho!(there she go, either a little to high, or a little too low, got no self esteem or vertigo 'cos she think shes made a' candy). That aside, welcome my shire...

Bourjois Paris Chocolate Bronzer

bronzer is on the right, left is the sun shining on my arm (don't know how that happened)

Hello bloggers! As you may know if you have read blogs or watched videos, there's a mahoosive, continuous debate on whether the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer is any good. So, me being the great citizen of Britain that i am, decided i would put my opinion out into the world wide web for you to perhaps base your purchase on!

So, as you may see from the pictures above, it is not very pigmented at all, but then again, i'm not exactly a bronzer girl, i only like a very little bit of it to sculpt my face without it looking too OTT. However, every time i apply it onto my face, i always feel caked up because of how much you need to get your brush into the product for any pay off whatsoever. I find it to be very soft though, which is good, but if i'm paying £7 for just smoothness then that's a complete rip off!

Now, onto packaging. That's what put me off getting it at first. I'm a sucker for chocolate and when i saw this, no word of a lie i wanted to eat it all up! But it's SO bulky in a makeup bag, i mean yes, it's pretty but you can't really fit this into a small makeup bag along with all of your other beauty essentials, and that's what really bummed me about this product!

Also, it has a slight scent that supposedly smells like chocolate, but to me, its smells much more floral  but don't worry you cant smell it once its on your face and it didn't break me out and i have really sensitive skin so i doubt it will affect your skin too!

You can purchase this at Boots and Superdrug for £6.99, but if you're really into bronzers and like really pigmented colour, i wouldn't bother.

Overall, i give this product a 2/5 because it's really not worth the amount you pay for and even though i like a light bronzer, this was just too cakey and un-pigmented!

what did you think of the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer?

Lady Gaga 'Fame' Perfume

For Christmas i received many presents that i am extremely thankful for, one of them being the Lady Gaga 'Fame' Perfume.

The perfume comes in a very extravagant bottle (i know, big word, big word!) that in my eyes is beautiful, with a transparent body and magnificent lid, but for mothers who have young children, it could be very dangerous.

Is it just me, or does the lid, when taken off the bottle, remind you of the alien invaders from 'War Of The Worlds'?...

Anyway, before i get off topic, let's discuss the most important factor, the smell. This fragrance has a very floral aroma and also a fruity one at the same time. What shocked me most was how subtle it was, i was expecting a bold, strong scent that knocked you to the floor before you could say "Gaga"! That's not to say i don't like it though, i found it just the right amount of scent for everyday wear (although, it was £30 for 50ml, so it might not tickle everyone's  fancy).

It has a slight male muskiness to it though, which i really liked! it reminded me of the 212 Sexy for Men, which i much prefer to the woman's one!

When you spray the liquid onto your wrists, neck, body- wherever you want to smell nice- it seems to have a grey colour to it, which i found really interesting because i had never seen another perfume that had done that, but don't fear, it doesn't transfer onto clothes and disappears ones it absorbs into your skin!

All in all, i really do like this perfume and i shall be using it a lot!

What's your favourite perfume?

Hi!

Why hello there bloggers, i'm Maisie. Occupation- highschool-er, Status- single. Don't really know why i just told you that but i feel like i should of..? I'm new to the blogging world and to be honest extremely confused at all this mumbo-jumbo to do with labels and permalinks(!?). However, i very much enjoy reading blogs and usually base my purchases on what they say! My favourite bloggers would have to be zoella, icovetthee, fleurdeforce and of course... sprinkleofglitter

On my blog (that is if i work out how to post things!) i will include mostly makeup and maybe a few clothing pieces,  but do remember i am still a young, little pipsqueak and not exactly 'rolling in the dosh'! i'm very much looking forward to showing you what i buy and my opinions on things and i hope you enjoy it too!

Okay, so, this is where i start my blogging experience! Cheerio for now!
